The Level 2 Garment Making qualification is ideal for anyone looking to develop creative practical skills and technical knowledge while designing and constructing a garment.

This qualification introduces a range of garment-making skills and techniques. You will learn how to take accurate body measurements, follow and adapt commercial patterns, and construct garments using a variety of fabrics, seam finishes and fastenings. You will also gain an understanding of fabric properties and their application.

The course explores creative enterprise and employment opportunities within the fashion and craft industries, helping you apply this knowledge to your own work. You will research sources of inspiration, develop and refine your ideas, and plan, create and evaluate a finished garment.

Materials
You will need to purchase a sewing pattern, fabric and any materials required for your chosen garment. Your tutor will discuss suitable patterns and materials at the start of the course.

How Will You Be Assessed?
Assessment is through a portfolio of coursework completed throughout the course and internally assessed by experienced tutors.

Entry Requirements
You should have completed a Level 1 Garment Making Creative Crafts qualification or have equivalent intermediate garment-making skills. A good standard of English is recommended.
