Level 2 Hairdressing is your first step towards an exciting career in the salon industry.
Course Delivery
This course is delivered through a blended learning approach, combining face-to-face and online learning. Classroom sessions will take place at Queens Road Learning Centre from 9.30am to 3.00pm, followed by a tutor-led online session from 4.00pm to 6.00pm. Learners are required to attend both the classroom and online sessions as part of the course.

What Will I be Studying
This is a blended learning course with practical, sessions where you will spend time developing your practical skills and theoretical knowledge online, guided by experienced Lecturers.
You will develop skills in:
- Advising and consulting with clients
- Setting and dressing hair
- Styling and finishing hair
- Developing and maintaining your effectiveness at work
- Cutting hair using basic techniques
- Colouring and lightening hair
- Shampooing, conditioning, and treating the hair and scalp
How Will I be Assessed
You will build a portfolio of your work on the online platform Manage-Assess and will be assessed in your practical work by your Lecturers. You will have online exams and written assignments.
Equipment:
A hairdresser’s kit is required to develop your skills and complete the course. If you are on a low wage, you may be eligible for support through the Hardship Fund.
Course Enrolment and Assessment:
Before enrolling, you'll attend a face-to-face interview, which includes a short English and Maths assessment, lasting around 2 hours.
