Workshop Title: Summer Reading challenge launch – Create musical maracas

Walthamstow Town Square – Next to Walthamstow Library
Workshop Description:
Get ready to shake, rattle and roll this summer! As part of the Read to the Beat library reading challenge, this creative drop in workshop invites children to design and build their very own maracas using recycled materials.
Using everyday items such as Kinder Egg containers, wooden spoons, paper, felt tips and other reusable treasures, families will discover how sound is made while experimenting with rhythm and texture With guidance from our friendly family learning tutors, children will turn simple objects into colourful maracas.
Come along, get creative, and make some noise as we bring stories to life through music!
Who is the course for?
Families with children 3-9 year olds.
Do you gain any qualifications?
No – this course is not accredited.
Do you need to be interviewed or assessed before enrolling on the course?

You will learn to?
• Develop creative and practical making skills
