Course Title: Communicating with Teenagers -
Course Description:
“Why don’t you just talk to me?!!” exclaimed the frustrated parent.
Parenting children through a child’s adolescent years is never and has never been, an easy or straight forward task. What was once relatively simple communication between a parent and their toddler or primary school aged child can suddenly becoming painfully difficult for all parties with the onset of adolescence. If you have ever thought to yourself that it is as if an alien has recently moved into your house, then this course could be for you.
During this free five week course we will help parents navigate their way through the challenges of how one can best communicate with a teenage child. Some new lenses will be offered which will set the foundation for conversations with your child that neither you, nor they, were expecting would be possible. Parents taking this course will learn how to help their child become confident solvers of life’s problems taking into consideration both their own AND their parents concerns. Our aim is to help parents create an environment of collaboration rather than a battle of wills in the family home, that is satisfying for all and strengthens the parent/child bond through the challenges of the teenage years.
Who is the course for?
This course is for any parent of a secondary school aged child, who want to overcome barriers and discover some new ways to effectively communicate with their adolescent child and become a collaborator in the challenge of resolving teenage life problems.
