This course aims to introduce you to key single-entry manual bookkeeping skills, as a standalone qualification, or as a first step towards the intermediate and advanced levels. The course also includes theory of accounting software.
If you would like a solid introduction to bookkeeping or just a refresher, you need bookkeeping skills for your business, are interested in running bookkeeping services for local businesses, are currently in employment or training and you need workplace skills or would like to acquire new skills to help with a change in your career, then this course is for you.
You will learn the following:
• Understand the role of the bookkeeper
• Understand financial transactions
• Process customer and supplier transactions
• Process receipts and payments
Understand the benefits and risks of using accounting software to complete bookkeeping tasks.
Before joining the course, you will need to complete a short assessment to make sure this course is suitable for you.
Once you have successfully passed the AAT Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping you can progress onto AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting. Your tutor will be able to provide further guidance.

Assessment:
The session will last for around 2 hours, you will watch a short presentation on our AAT offer, followed by a short assessment in English and Maths.
