This friendly, supportive course is designed to build your confidence in using watercolours and ink, while guiding you to look closely and describe what you see with sensitivity and energy. You will explore line, tone, colour, and texture to develop your painterly potential, enjoy your personal style, and learn to handle your materials with creativity.
Expect to experience enhanced wellbeing in this calming, creative atmosphere as you relax into the flow of painting. By learning to truly observe, you will strengthen your observational skills—a key part of painting success.
You will explore traditional subjects such as still life and landscapes, experimenting with a range of techniques in a supportive, relaxed environment that encourages you to find your own unique style with these fascinating mediums.

Course content
-Line, tone, light, texture, perspective, washes
-Colour theory and colour mixing
-Mark-making techniques
-Selecting and preparing paper
-Drawing and painting with ink alongside watercolours
-Planning and composing successful images

Essential Equipment and Resources:
You will need to provide your own materials. Some guidance will be given during the first session.

Suggested materials include:
