On this 4 week course you will learn how to use your printmaking knowledge gained so far to develop and further your skills. You will use a range of printmaking processes such as lino-cutting, polystyrene plate and printing from found objects to develop exciting images that explore texture and colour to make your prints.
The course opens up the possibility of using arts and craft to socialise, as a career change and/or as basis for enterprise or self-employment.
You will learn how to extend your printmaking skills and combine printmaking techniques to create outcomes.
- You will explore different printmaking techniques using both a press and hand printing.
- Develop your own designs and experiment with the techniques to produce your own outcomes.
- You will explore the different ways of using colour.
- Have 1:1 help with the development of ideas and for support.
- Explore ways to use your work look at options of enterprise opportunities.
- Develop research skills and ideas.
- Through a range of demonstrations.
What will you learn?
Week 1 - Introduction to the course, refresh skill and make a sample lino cut print.
Week 2 - Experiment with mark-making using different marks using monoprinting and stencils.
Week 3 - Develop your own designs, explore printing from found objects.
Week 4 - Developing a final idea.
