• Reading: Identifying key information in short texts, reading simple instructions, understanding straightforward vocabulary
• Writing: Writing structured sentences, basic paragraphing, using punctuation correctly, spelling common words accurately
• Speaking, Listening & Communication: Expressing opinions in simple discussions, listening and responding appropriately
Progression Opportunities:
• Progress to Functional Skills English E3 Award in Reading
• Support for employment and vocational training
