You will learn how to thread and use a sewing machine and techniques in machine sewing such as how to use different stitches, finishing details such as piping and adding zips to your sewing projects.

This non-accredited course is suitable if you are a beginner or if you want to re-learn skills that have not been practised for some time.

What will you learn:
You will learn how to thread and use a sewing machine and techniques in machine sewing such as:
• Straight stitches, twin needle, automatic stitches
• Using wool fabrics, silky fabrics, fine fabrics
• Spaced tucks, wave tucks
• Joining squares
• Gathering onto a piece of fabric
• Piping
• Zips –Concealed, semi concealed
• Top stitching
• Machine maintenance

What to bring:
You will need to bring a folder to store your notes and samples. You may want to bring the following equipment if you have it; embroidery scissors, tape measure, hand sewing needles, pins, sewing thread if you do not have these items, we will provide them.
