Course Title: Painting With Oil Paints
Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for all abilities, especially beginners and the rusty. Always wanted to paint with oils but wasn’t sure where to start? Have some experience of painting or drawing but feel a little rusty or confused?
Whatever your ability, if you would like some practical, gentle guidance in composing oil paintings, this course is for you.
This course is designed to help you gain confidence in oil painting and help you to learn to look and describe what you see with sensitivity and energy. You will be gently guided through line, tone, colour and texture to maximise your painterly potential, enjoy your glazes and handle your brushes with style.
You will be encouraged in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, to find your own unique style with this wonderful medium. You will find your mind is relaxed and refreshed as you find true well being with your paints.

No – this course is not accredited.
Do you need to be interviewed or assessed before enrolling on the course?

The course will help participants plan and compose successful images, experimenting with different oil techniques including:

• Discover how colours behave and how to harness them to describe various sources of inspiration.
• Explore colour theory, colour mixing practice using various mediums.
• Will be guided through line, tone, hue and texture.

• Series of exercises designed to look and describe what you see with exciting marks, sensitive handling of different materials and combine different media.
