This course is suitable for you if you would like to learn how to create different types of charts and then move on to use more advanced Microsoft Excel Chart features.

Course overview:
In this course you will learn how to use the most appropriate chart type to present your data in a way that really engages your audience. Working with a range of chart types will enable you and your audience to easily understand your data. This course will provide detailed information on how to create charts in MS Excel, including reviewing and selecting chart types, layouts, and styles. The training will also cover changing colours and format options, as well as how to make changes to titles and labels. This is an introductory class for those who need to quickly learn basic Excel chart features and for those who are interested in a refresher.
No previous experience with Excel is required, but basic familiarity with Microsoft Office is helpful.
What you will learn to:
- Create effective charts by selecting the correct data ranges
- Create a range of common charts including, line, scatter, combo and box and whisker
- Use a range of techniques to enhance charts for example, error bars and trend lines
- Customise the formatting of charts using axis, legends, 3D, background images, titles, data labels etc
What you will need:
This workshop will be conducted online via Zoom so you should set up an account. You'll need a device such as a computer or laptop that has the Microsoft Office suite installed and has a stable internet connection. A webcam, microphone and speakers (or headphones) are necessary for listening to instructors and participating in discussions. We’ll send a Zoom link to your email the day of class.
You should have access to Microsoft Excel (version 2013 or later) installed on a computer or laptop for hands-on exercises.
