Course Title: Introduction to mindfulness
This 90-minute ‘taster’ workshop is aimed at adults.
Course Overview:
Mindfulness is about present-moment awareness. It is an attentional skill that can be strengthened with appropriate training.
This course is based on an understanding of mindfulness that is evidenced by neuroscience. This course is taught by a ‘Breathworks Mindfulness’ accredited teacher."

Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for people who want to learn to meditate and want to develop skills to better deal with stressful situations and to improve wellbeing.
What will the course cover?
By focusing each week on a different mindfulness exercise and aspect of life, you will gain insights about how to apply mindfulness skills in your everyday life.
In this practical course, you will be encouraged to try different mindfulness exercises on a daily basis. By the end of the course, you will be able to decide which ones work best and carry on with the ones that are most helpful.
Other information and entry requirements:
Learners will need to:
- Have access to Zoom and the internet.
You will be emailed the link and a questionnaire before the start of the course.
- Join a weekly live online learning session. In the first session, you will be shown how to download meditation files from the relevant internet page, or download an application on your phone, and other course information (including an optional textbook)
- Participate in practical exercises, discussions/ chats and guided meditations
- Set aside the required time to try various exercises between sessions e.g. 10 mins once or twice a day
- No special preparation is necessary for the course. Please ensure that you do not miss the first session. (It is not possible to join this course after the first session).
