This course will help you improve your IT and digital skills for everyday life and work.
This course is for those who have completed Digital Skills – Intermediate course and are confident at using computers and digital devices for everyday life and for some more formal purposes (for example at work).

Duration: 11 weeks, 4 hours per week, every Wednesday
Date: 30 April to 16 July - 10am to 2:30pm
This course is for adults with some experience of using digital devices and the internet but lacking secure basic digital skills.
This qualification covers 5 skills areas set out in the national standards for essential digital skills:
Using devices and handling information
Effectively use devices, apps and operating systems. Learn software installation, system updates, file management, cloud storage and refining searches. Evaluate online information, solve technical issues and enhance digital skills.
Creating and editing
Create and format digital content. Use tools to edit text, tables, images and charts. Apply formulas, process data and design presentations or worksheets to improve communication and problem-solving.
Communicating
Use suitable online communication methods for various contexts. Manage your digital footprint and online identity responsibly.
Transacting
Engage with online transactional services, upload/download documents and compare buying options to find the best deals.
Being safe and responsible online
Protect personal data, use multifactor authentication, back up securely and guard against cyber threats. Practice ethical online behaviour and adopt habits to reduce digital health risks.
Assessment
At the end of the course you will complete an online assessment.
