Course Title: KS1 Maths Keeping Up with the Children

Who is the course for? This course is aimed at parents who would like to increase their ability to support their child with their math’s needs at Key Stage 1 (4-7 years old). You will need to have good spoken language skills. This course is not suitable for adults who are beginners in English.

Do you gain any qualifications?
No – this course is not accredited but you will receive a completion certificate if you attend 80% of the course.

Do you need to be interviewed or assessed before enrolling on the course?
Yes, on the first session, There are no formal entry requirements for this course accept a commitment to participate at take part

You will learn how to:-
• Improve your confidence in supporting your child with their numeracy
• Improve your numeracy skills linked to the KS1 Curriculum
• Make practical resources that you can use with your child
• Increase enjoyment in maths and engage your children in practical activities
• Understand the key areas of maths in Primary school
• Understand the importance of mathematical vocabulary
• Recognise maths learning in everyday activities

Essential equipment and resources
• Writing Pens x 2
• A4 writing paper
• Coloured dividers
• A4 folder to keep all your work
